In about 12 hours I’m off to New York for my first real trip away from Wisconsin since I flew back from Spain to be with my dad. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was ambivalent about going. My dad is doing better, but he’s far from being out of the woods. He is still in intensive care, but isn’t hooked up to any major life support. I am always asked for suggestions on where to travel. Everyone wants to find some place which is undiscovered and not overrun by tourists. There aren’t many of these places left, but they do exist. In fact I always recommend one place to people: the Federated States of Micronesia. Not only is Micronesia not overrun with tourists, it probably never will be.
